Glad you found us! The Sonoma United Methodist Church has been worshipping in Sonoma Valley since 1850. We are a group of people committed to the traditional United Methodist values of deep spiritual growth and compassionate service in the world on behalf of Christ. We are both in our orientation. Christ matters in the practice of our faith and the living of our lives. We are progressive in our understanding of the scriptures and God's call to justice in the world. We believe that the Bible contains the truth of God in the language of humankind. The call of God is for justice compassion and mercy for all of humanity and that this call is unmistakable even through the centuries of scriptural translation and interpretation. Our worship, teaching and practice are focused on being led by the experience of God through Christ into a world that hungers for the message of wholeness and mercy that God has offered from the beginning.
